On Saturday former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold returns to the octagon to face heavy-hitting Paulo Costa. The winner of the fight has a good chance to compete for the title next.

The current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will for sure keep an eye on the fight. On his YouTube channel he recently broke down the UFC 278 middleweight co-main event.

“I’d say Luke should take him down. Luke should start wrestling straight away,” Adesanya said, claiming that Costa is the most dangerous at the beginning of the fight.

“Yoel tried to take Costa down and Costa had the overhook, and he just wizarded him, and they got back up and smiled at each other. Luke, if he can just wrestle him, get him tired, wear those muscles out, do what I did, teep his legs, establish leg kicks a little bit, and start wrestling straight away. Make him second guess,” Adesanya said.

Israel Adesanya: “My brain goes Luke”

Israel Adesanya thinks that the heavy-handed Brazilian will go all in straight away.

“Costa, I think just do what he does. Just barrage him. If he clips him, he’s probably gonna drop Luke,” Adesanya reasoned.

With that said, the middleweight champion still believe that veteran Rockhold comes out as the winner at UFC 278.

“My brain goes Luke, so I’m going to put Luke,” Adesanya predicted.
