In the first minutes, Alvey was backed up against the cage, dropped twice and had his jaw broken, before veteran referee Herb Dean stopped the bout. Worth mentioning is that game opponent Oleksiejczuk has earned 13 of his 17 wins by stoppage, nine of those coming in the first round. With the loss, Alvey has a nine-fight winless skid, which is the longest in the company’s history. The 36-year-old hasn’t won a fight since June 2018. After the loss to Oleksiejczuk, the popular UFC middleweight wrote following statement on Instagram. “Well shit… I swear I used to be good. I lost a step somewhere but my family got to see me fight live. I’m fine but my pride hurts right now. Love you guys.
