Michael Chandler anser att UFC-rivalen Conor McGregor blir orättvist behandlad av de som klipper årets säsong av The Ultimate Fighter.
Michael Chandler säger att Conor McGregor inte var så pass frånvarande
Michael Chandler och Conor McGregor är tränarna i The Ultimate Fighter 31 och än så länge leder den tidigares team med 6-0 mot irländarens. När det kommer till programmet har McGregor inte setts till vid invägningarna och en del medverkande fighters har sagt att irländaren inte alltid varit där under träningarna.
Hans konkurrent Chandler säger dock nu att det inte stämmer och att McGregor endast saknades vid invägningarna.
Michael Chandler sade följande till TMZ Sports om irländaren som han dock inte anser gjorde ett lika gediget jobb som han själv med sitt lag:
What Conor said on the show, they are filtering this thing about the weigh-ins. Yeah, he didn’t show up to the weigh-ins, that could send a message to your team that, hey I wasn’t there for the weigh-ins, I wasn’t there for this. But, ultimately, he was there in the training sessions, they are showing him a lot of him training with his guys. I think they definitely could be filtering it a little more. Obviously, I love my guys, I showed up, my attention to detail, my love that I had for each of these guys and their future. I think it was immensely more than Conor.
Hade kunnat gå lika bra för McGregor med Chandlers lag
Många anser dock inte att coachandet i realityserien spelar överdrivet mycket roll då det är svårt att märkbart förbättra en fighter under en så pass kort tid. Chandler tror i och med det att om han och irländaren hade bytt lag innan säsongen så skulle veteranerna fortfarande kunna skåpa ut talangerna.
I know I was there, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there for his guys. He was in every training session, he was training with his guys. It is reality TV, it can be cut any way they want. I think Conor’s getting a little bit of a raw deal when it comes to how much he was there or wasn’t there (with his team). Showing up for the weigh-ins isn’t that big of a deal and they kept asking me about it so obviously I kept talking about it. I don’t think the results would be any different, to be honest with you.
En av den tävlande fighters har dock sagt att McGregor även inte var där vid en del morgonpass.
