UFC-welterviktaren Ian Garry (13-0) gillar enligt egen utsago att skapa trubbel. Han lät dock bli när han träffade på Khamzat Chimaev (13-0).

Innan han blev rankad och på allvar fångade fansens uppmärksamhet detta år så gjorde Garry en intervju där han berättade om hur han nästan hamnade i en fight med obesegrade Khamzat Chimaev.
Garry berättade följande till MMA On Point:
I’ll tell you a funny story about Khamzat. We got in the elevator, and me and my wife are standing there, press the button, doors open, Khamzat and his missus… I’d love to have a fight here. I’d love to just swing hands with Khamzat in the middle of an elevator. The stories would’ve been f****ing cool.
Garry var schemalagd att möta Darian Weeks vid UFC 273 som ägde rum i Jacksonville, Florida. Samma gala var Chimaev inbokad att möta den tidigare titelutmanaren Gilbert Burns.
My missus is looking at me with eyes popped out of her f****ing skull and she’s like, do it, have a fight with him. In my head I’m thinking my teammates about to fight him tomorrow. I’m not f***ing ruining that. There’s two f***ing women in here. Me and him are gonna go to the death if we fight in an elevator. We step out the lift and my wife just looks at me and goes, ‘You’re a p***y.
Chimaev kom till slut att flytta upp till mellanvikt och en framtida match mot Garry ser nu ut att vara långt borta.
Den 26-årige Garry kommer återvända till oktagonen mot Vicente Luque i slutet av året vid UFC 296 den 16 december i Las Vegas, Nevada.
