Khamzat Chimaev set to face Nate Diaz – headlines UFC 279!Frontkick.online

UFC superstars Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz has verbally agreed to fight at UFC 279 on September 10. The welterweight fight will be five rounds and serve as the main event of the evening.

“I am going to handle Nate Diaz’s funeral,” Khamzat told ESPN, via manager Majdi Shammas.

“This is a fight Nate has been asking for since the middle of April,” said Zach Rosenfield, who represents Nate Diaz.

Sixth UFC bout for Khamzat Chimaev

According to Brett Okamoto, ESPN confirmed the booking with UFC executive Hunter Campbell, who said that the verbal agreements are in place.

Khamzat Chimaev is 11-0 as a professional MMA fighter, and 5-0 in the UFC. He last fought at UFC 273 where he defetead Gilbert Burns in a brutal and bloody FOTY-candidate.

Nate Diaz’s last fought at UFC 263, where he lost a tough fight to title contender Leon Edwards. The fight against Chimaev will be the final fight on his current UFC contract.
