En gammal UFC-legendar älskar att Sean O’Malley har valt att utmana Conor McGregor till en match.
Sean O’Malley anser att Conor McGregor är avundsjuk
För de som missat så har en rivalitet mellan Sean O’Malley och Conor McGregor börjat att ta form. Tidigare denna månad misslyckades Ryan Garcia med ett drogtest som gjorts i och med matchen mot Devin Haney. Det rapporterat positiva resultatet resulterade i ett ilsket uttalande från McGregor som sågade Garcia. Irländaren valde även att attackera O’Malley i inlägget då denne tidigare testat positivt för substansen som Garcia ska haft i blodet.
Detta har resulterat i att O’Malley gått till motattack. I dagarna svarade UFC-bantamviktsmästaren irländaren som han anser är avundsjuk. Mästaren spekulerade även att fejden kan ha att göra med att han inte skrev på för irländarens management för ett tag sedan.
O’Malley samma sak i sin podcast TimboSugarShow:
Cocaine is a hell of a drug. He was probably shadowboxing in the bathroom at a f*cking club, and I get it. I do think there was a lot of jealousy [in his post].
People like that, with that big of an ego, he can see what’s happening. He’s starting to get pushed out, and I’m starting to come up. It’s like, there’s no other reason for him to talk about me.
I’ve never said anything, but praise for him. I looked up to him… He’s probably geeked out, and jealous. He wanted me to sign with their management company [in the past] but I didn’t want to. He sees me blowing up. I don’t know [what his problem is].
O’Malley sade även något annat. Mästaren har nu utmanat McGregor till en lättviktsmatch. Även om fightern just nu fightas i bantamvikt så är han villig att gå upp två viktklasser för att möta irländaren.

I was more sad than mad. Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely just sleep him. I’m turning up, I’m changing up real quick. F*** Conor.
Daniel Cormier hyllar O’Malleys tilltag
Någon som är ett fan av idén är legendaren Daniel Cormier. Den numera expertkommentatorn diskuterade matchen i podcasten Good Guy, Bad Guy Podcast.
I podcasten sade Cormier att även om matchen inte blir av så är det inte osannolikt att den blir verklighet. Oavsett så hyllade Cormier O’Malleys trash-talk med McGregor som satt båda på samma spelplan. Den forne dubbelmästaren säger nu att O’Malley endast är en utmaning från en match med superstjärnan:
It feels like it raises [his stock] and gets people talking. Here’s what Sean O’Malley needs to do and this is one thing he recognizes. Merab Dvalishvili for a guy like you, for a guy like me, it’s exciting because we love the wrestling. We love his ability to grind people out, truly take their will and their spirit, and make them not want to fight him. But to the general fan, Merab Dvalishvili will not draw you into a Sean O’Malley fight like some of these other guys right?
Sean doesn’t have that as a challenger. So what do you do? The next best thing to do is this. Callout Conor, get your name aligned with the biggest name in the sport. Especially now that McGregor is coming back. Hope that when Conor fights at International Fight Week, the biggest fight card of the year for the UFC general, Sean O’Malley is in the arena… After the fight, hope Conor just dogs him out. That keeps him on the same playing field with him.
