Miesha Tate vs. Lauren Murphy being postponed twice
Former bantamweight champion Meisha Tate was scheduled to face Lauren Murphy on May 14, but the bout was moved to UFC 276 on July 2. However, a week prior to the event, Murphy pulled out since she tested positive for COVID-19. On Saturday July 16, it’s finally time for Tate’s anticipated flyweight debut.
Meisha Tate is coming from a tough unanimous decision loss to Ketlen Vieira in November last year. Before that fight, she took a impressive TKO-win over Marion Reneau in her UFC comeback in July last year.
Murphy is ranked No. 3 in the flyweight division. In September last year she foughtt for the title against dominant champion Valentina Shevchenko. A fight Murphy lost by TKO in the fourth round. Prior to that she had a five-fight win streak.
