Den tidigare UFC-fightern Sam Alvey ångrar att han ens tänkte tanken på att fightas i Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Trots att han hade det kämpigt i UFC tänkte Sam Alvey aldrig på att pensionera sig efter att hans kontrakt var över. Fightern började omedelbart att hitta efter en ny organisation och det dröjde inte länge innan han hittade intressenter.
Även om han var öppen för alla erbjudanden så avslöjar nu Alvey för MMA Fighting att han aldrig var nära att testa på bare knuckle-boxning efter att han pratat med BKFC. Tråkigt nog för Alvey så höll organisationen honom i limbo under nästan ett år istället för att faktiskt kontraktera honom och boka en match:
BKFC kind of wasted a year of my career after the UFC. So they would have to come in with a real good offer [if they wanted me now] because they kind of pissed me off this last year. The rotten guys, they were very nice to my face. They said we’ll make something happen and they asked what I wanted, I gave them a big number expecting a smaller number to come back. They said, ‘We’ll see what we can do.’ They said, ‘We found a Russia fight, they want a part of you.’ I said OK, I’ll fight in Russia. It was two weeks’ notice on Christmas day in Russia and they wanted an ex-UFC 205-pounder, and then Russia said no.
BKFC kept saying, ‘June, we’ll have a fight for you.’ I said OK, I turned down a couple other fights, and then June came and went and nothing. Then it was, ‘We didn’t mean June, it’s going to be August.’ OK, August. They just kept saying it’s coming, it’s coming, it’s coming, and then nothing came. It was just real upsetting. Because I was thrilled to work with them.
Efter att drömmen om BKFC dog siktade Alvey istället in sig på Karate Combat. Detta efter att han sett att sin gamle vän tillika Bellatorveteranen Raymond Daniels fightades där. Alvey hörde av sig och snart visade organisationen intresse i att skriva ett kontrakt med honom.
I debuten stod han för en knockout och fightern är nu glad över att fightas i organisationen. Detta även om han är intresserad av andra möjliga erbjudanden. I synnerhet om UFC hör av sig med ett erbjudande om en återkomst.
