Israel Adesanya reveals news on Alex Pereira grudge match: “We’ve got a date”

It looks like the plans for a bout between middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and his former kickboxing rival Alex Pereira are moving forward. On his YouTube account, “The Last Stylebender” recently confirmed that he is fighting Pereira next, and clamied that they already have a a date for the fight.

“Yes. When do I want it? We’ve got a date,” Adesanya said. “We’ve already sussed it out, we’re already planning, we’re sussed with it.”

The champion did not reveal more details, but there a plenty of cards that could fit a title fight this autumn. At the moment, UFC 279, UFC 280 and UFC 281 has no headliners announced.

Alex Pereira not impressed by Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya’s Brazilian rival has spent almost his entire career competing as a kickboxer, but just seven fights into his professional MMA career he is No. 6 ranked in the stacked UFC middleweight division.

However, “Poatan” is not impressed by Adesanyas performance at UFC 276 and claims that Izzy is very aware of how dangerous he is in the octagon.

“He’s going to have to look better next time,” Pereira told the reporters at the UFC 276 post-fight press conference. “He’s been watching my development. He knows I’m dangerous, he knows the risk he would be taking.”
