In the co-main event, former world champion Rory ”The Red King” MacDonald meets Sadibou ”The Swedish Denzel Washington” Sy in a welterweight bout. Canadian MMA icon Rory MacDonald made quick work of Brett Cooper in his first contest of the season, submitting Cooper in the first round. The ”Red King”, who currently tops the Welterweight standings, now faces off with the striker Sadibou Sy of Sweden. Sy earned a hard-fought decision over Nikolai Aleksakhin earning three points in the process, but he will need another win if he hopes to head back to the postseason. Speaking to Fightermag after his latest win he said ”The match didn’t really go as I had hoped, and I wasn’t entirely happy with my effort because I know I can do more and better. But the important thing was to go out there for 15 minutes and get the hand raised at the end of the match! It feels good.” MacDonald weighed in at 170.8-pounds as he tries to book back-to-back appearances in the playoffs. Sy came in at 170.2-pounds.

Tonight he squares off with veteran Brett Cooper. Following his defeat in his first season fight, Cooper seeks redemption heading into PFL 6 this evening.

Larissa Pacheco enters the PFL SmartCage looking for her fourth straight first-round knockout and a return to the Playoffs. Pacheco faces the fierce opponent Genah Fabian. Pacheco looks to vault to the top of the standings and fights to take home her first PFL World Championship and the coveted $1 million prize.

Magomedkerimov was meant to face Joao Zeferino at PFL 6, but as Zeferino did not weigh in he has been replaced by Dilano Taylor. Taylor has 3 points in the Welterweight standings. Nikolai Aleksakhin withdrew from his bout after weighing in and will not compete on the card. Carlos Leal, therefore, receives an automatic 3 points in division standings.
